STEPS
1

You can grow your interest by finding ways to learn more or go deeper on that topic. This can help build purposeful practices of learning and doing around the things you care about. Keep focusing on an interest that you are inspired to dive deeper into or develop into a skill.

REFLECT

IS THERE AN INTEREST I WANT TO GROW?
Take a look at Interest Mapping for more ideas
2

Choose two ways to get started learning about this interest. Consider where you might find information about this interest.

3

Start exploring! Learn more about this interest using your two chosen methods. For example, if your interest is woodworking and you chose ‘Collect Inspiration,’ put together a Pinterest board of different types of woodworking projects. If your interest is game development and you chose ‘Follow a Conversation,’ follow a few game developers on Twitter and see what they’re talking about.

4

Reflect on whether or not you want to continue to deepen this interest. Ask yourself: Did I enjoy learning about this topic? Did it bring you joy or make you feel energized? Was it easy to stay motivated? If not, choose a new interest to explore, then try Steps 2 and 3 again! Keep exploring until you find an interest you want to dive deeper into.

HABITS

Create space for exploration

Giving yourself space to explore without accomplishing a task can ignite your natural ability to learn. Regularly give yourself time to do some research on your interests without a goal — see where your curiosity takes you.

Share what inspires you

The next time you watch an interesting video or learn something new from an article, consider sharing this with a friend, a group, or on social media. You never know who might have similar interests or be inspired to try something new!

Look for related interests

If you enjoy learning about one topic, what other topics are similar? You might notice your recommended videos after you watch a video you’re interested in or follow certain hashtags to see more similar content — does this prompt any new curiosities?
